The program cannot be opened.

Dear community,

Illustrator no longer works for me. After the program opens, it freezes immediately. I can't do anything. „Program is not responding."

I'm using a 2024 MacBook Air with macOS Tahoe 26.1. Illustrator (30.1) is up to date. I've already uninstalled it twice (deleted old versions) and also run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, then reinstalled Illustrator, but none of that helped. Older versions (29.0) also freeze immediately. Closing all other Adobe programs does not help either.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can solve this?

I would be very grateful for any useful tips.

Best regards,

Alexia

Hi Mårten,

I solved the problem before I downgraded my OSX version. It was the wacom tablet driver. After I deinstalled it, Illustrator worked again 🙂 Not the best solution but at least a quick fix.

Best regards

Sorry, I got no fix but I had the same problem. Its the OSX26 update from what I gather after doing some googling...I had to go back to earlier OSX version and just wait for an Adobe update I guess.
