The top control bar has vanished and it will not come back when I select control from the window

The top control bar has vanished in adobe illustrator, I have tried clicking control from the window options and it still will not appear. I’ve also tried all the different screen modes, plus choosing the contol option and it still will not come back. Anyone els ehad this problem, it is extremely frustrating as the control bar is a big part of my work flow

Did you try to select one of your workspaces and select Window > Workspace > Reset Workspace?

Did you already reboot the computer and reset the preferences? Resetting the prefs will of course erase all settings.

Thanks, that sort of worked but sort of didn’t. So now, the only time the control bar will appear is when I choose ‘Getting started’ from the work spaces, in all other modes no control bar will appear, even if I toggle it in the window options, can you help with that?

Would you mind selecting one of your other workspaces first and then selecting the option to reset that workspace to see if it helps?
