Tools disappearing in Illustrator

From tools disappearing to unexplained visual icon errors everywhere, settings not saving. Who even checks this. Swear every POS rendition that comes out ALWAYS has problems.

I am sure most of the issues you are facing should be solvable as lots of people around are using this software and generally satisfied. Sorry about this frustration. That's definitely not a typical experience with the application. Could you please share a small video or screenshots of the issue. Also, please confirm which OS and version of Illustrator you are working on?
