Total beginner Illustrator question: adding still images to video

I am a virtual assistant, and one of our clients has asked us to add a still image at the beginning and end of a video file. The video is a .mov file, the images are .ai — I haven't worked with illustrator, just wondered if there was a way to do this? Or is it something that wouldn't need illustrator? Thanks.

THat's something you would typically do in a video editing application.

Premiere elements should be able to do it. You might need Illustrator to export the AI file into different formats. But that would depend on how exactly is has been saved.

Thank you Monika for that fast answer — IYO is this a complex process, once opened in Premiere Elements? We work with PS and ID and have very little experience in the other applications. We don't mind saying that we can't do this particular task (to the client), just wondered.

Just adding still images in a video track. If you have at least some experience with timelines and layers (or are willing to spend a night and learn it), this should be OK. It's not that hard.

And since you have Photoshop: you can toally do this with Photoshop.

There should be a couple of tutorials available such as this:

And of course the documentation.
