Transparency settings not working

Hi, I'm sorry if this has been asked before... My transparency blending mode options (and stylize options) are not working and turn everything that has been selected black!! The only one that seems to work is Hue.

I recently updated my laptop and this has only been happening since then, I have no idea whether I need to change something in the settings, or if I have turned something on by mistake.

Any ideas would be gratefully accepted, many thanks in advance.

Shosh

Can you post an example before or after. Would help us to see what you are seeing.

This may be a graphics card issue,  overprint preview issue or other. Screenshots would answer many questions I would have rather than writing a long list.

Can you export to a bitmap image and open in photoshop, or command E to toggle on off your GPU preview.

    Hi Shosh,

We are extremely sorry to hear about this issue. I would request if you can share a few more details like:

    • Operating System(Exact version of Windows/MAC)
    • Exact version of Illustrator
    • Does the blending modes work on a new file?

If the same thing is happening with multiple files, even with a new file and please try resetting preferences for Illustrator: How to set preferences in Illustrator

Please note: Resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folder in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.

    Regards,

    Srishti

Hi, thank you both for responding.

I am using Windows 10, and the version of illustrator is 23.0.01 (64-bit), this happens with every new file that I open and I am hopefully attaching screen shots of before and after.

I will try resetting the preferences as well, but that will probably be tomorrow.

Thanks once again for both your suggestions.

    Shosh

    Shosh,

Have you tried Ctrl/Cmd+E as Mike suggested?

I believe that is a good first thing to try.
