We are sorry about this error. I am hopeful that the issue was fixed. If not, please try the following steps:

• Use Cleaner tool to uninstall Illustrator ( Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems ).
• Go to Control Panel> Programs and features. Check and uninstall if there is an unwanted program installed on your system recently.
• Remove all the Illustrator folders from C: \ Program Files, C: \ Users \ username \ AppData \ Roaming \ Adobe and C: \ Users \ username \ Local \ Roaming \ Adobe.
• Reinstall Illustrator from Creative Cloud: Learn how to download your Adobe Creative Cloud apps.

This will remove all the custom settings and Illustrator will launch with default settings. We recommend a clean install, however, you can take a backup of preferences folders in case you want to.
