Trouble with Illustrator Rotate, transform boxes.

I am using Illustrator 5.5. I don't know how to explain what is going on, so i have screenshots. Normally, you can state how dark you want the drop shadow, how much you want to rotate the object, but as you can see, these boxes are not readable. Sure, it works if you know you want to rotate 180 degrees, you just type that in and go but that doesn't work that way for everything.

I did uninstall and reinstall Illustrator and that worked for about a week. Now i am back to square one. Is there a better way? Am i hitting a button on accident?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time.

Jason

Recent updates to Windows 10 have affected pre-CC versions of Illustrator in this way. One further update to Windows 10 seemed to have fixed it but I've seen reports that the fix did not last very long. The bottom line is that the software and operating system need to be of (or near) the same era in order to assure reliability.

    Windows 10?

This issue comes and goes with every update.

CS5 and Windows 10 are not (fully) compatible. You might want to downgrade your system. Or update Illustrator.
