trying to turn my art into a graffiti-type picture

I would like to turn this Pikachu art...

into a graffiti painting, I saw on here...

So, in other words, I want my Pikachu portion of the top pic to look like it was painted on the brick wall in the background, like in the 2nd pic.  Do I need to use a texture or brush, or what?

This is a matter of blending modes and opacities and for pixel art of course the place to go to is Photoshop. No general recipe, though. Sometimes you use the artwork on top of the background e.g. using Overlay blending modes and it looks good, other times you'll need tons of duplicates, including adjusted versions of the background on top of the artwork to re-introduce the texture. This is more about experimenting intuitivley than any specific process or technique.
