Two Simple Questions about Adobe Illustrator

I would very much like to know the answers to the two following questions:

  • What is the definition of "proximity dictionary?"
  • What dictionary and what edition of that dictionary is used as the basis for the spell checker in Adobe Illustrator?

I would have liked to have had the answers to these questions from the company itself, but can't seem to find the correct location for asking these questions.

Correct answer Monika Gause

Proximity is the name of the company that provides language solutions

They are mentioned as solution providers here: InDesign – Copyright, Marken und Drittanbieter-Hinweise

The current dictionary solution is provided by Hunspell

Add and remove Hunspell dictionaries in different languages in InDesign

tobermory,

I believe you will find your answers here, through this search (see the first entry), and you may search on there if needed:

Hi Jacob,

Unfortunately, the links provided don't supply the answer to either of my questions. I found the following link on the web using a search engine: Proximity Dictionary. The person asked the same question I did, although in relation to InDesign, not Illustrator, and didn't get a definition either. Nowhere is "proximity dictionary" defined in the response to his question. That's why having an official response from an Adobe representative would be so useful. The same holds for establishing for a fact which American English dictionary is used as the basis for the spell checker in the American English version of Adobe Illustrator.
