Type 1 Support in CC22

Type 1 Support will be dropped January 2023.

Currently when using Illustrator v26.5.2, you can still use them.

Are you able to use Type 1 Fonts when we stay at this version or will v26.6 and higher not support it?

Illustrator v27.1 and higher will of course not. But i want to know what happens with the remaining releases of v26 (if there are any).

Thank you!

The bigger issue is this is not just an Adobe initiative. Type1 font support is being discontinued at the System software level so that means you should not update your computer OS (both Mac and Windows) or risk running into the same outcome.

Based on history, v26 will officially become unsupported after the release of v28 next year.

If you have any issues with the software or require reinstalls, you're going to have issues.

As long as you don't update them, nothing will change.

Yeah ok.

But do you know if there are any future releases of v26?

If there are and you update by accident its going to be hard to go back right?

It's not impossible. There was an update to v25 after v26 was released. Only you can stop you updating by accident, but I don't think it's difficult to resist.
