Type tool not working on iPad in Illustrator mobile

Oh. NOTHING is working. Using finger, not Apple Pencil. No tool makes any mark on the artboard. 

I just upgraded my subscription to Pro from desktop only. I restarted the app, no change.

Thanks for reaching out. Could you check if you have any pending OS/Illustrator updates? Install them and restart your device to see if it helps.
If the problem persists, please share more details, such as the version of iPadOS/Illustrator installed, your iPad model, and a brief screen recording of the issue, so we can investigate further.
