Typography bug: displaying squares

Hello everyone,
I've had a problem for a few days. When I try to type a text, the font automatically switches to Myriad Pro and a series of squares are drawn endlessly in place of my text.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling illustator, uninstalling and reinstalling Myriad Pro. No change. Any ideas?
Thanks a lot!

Did you install any fonts or any other software before this problem started to occur? There are lots of badly authored fonts posted on various free fonts web sites. Even some commercially sold fonts can have serious bugs.

Were any other graphics applications running in addition to Illustrator? For example, CorelDRAW and its built-in font manager can cause annoying problems, such as making one or more styles in a type family disappear from the fonts menu in Illustrator. If I close down both applications and re-launch Illustrator all of the missing fonts in the menu get restored.

For trouble-shooting steps the first thing I would recommend it rebooting the computer system and then launching only Adobe Illustrator. If the problem with text auto-switching to Myriad Pro persists the next step would be resetting Illustrator's preferences file. Deleting font cache files may also help. If that doesn't work removing Illustrator using the CC Cleaner tool and then reinstalling it might help.

Which language are you typing?

Are all fonts installed correctly?

which system is it?

I type in French.
I checked the fonts. They seem to be installed correctly, but I'm not sure how to check that.

I'm on Windows 11

Do you perhaps have a font manager installed?

Does this happen with all fonts or just that one?
