UI bug

Please refer to the attached video. This is most consistant with the Zoom tool but it's happening sporatically with all active tool icons not displaying correctly.

Does the error happen in both CPU Preview and GPU Preview mode? Is the graphics driver portion of Mac OSX up to date? I'm using Windows PCs and have seen bugs in the drivers for graphics boards cause problems with Illustrator and other applications. Updating the driver often fixes the problem. Drivers for attached periphreal devices, such as graphics tablets, are also a source for trouble.

Does the same happen when you boot into Safe Mode?

If so, please report at https://illustrator.uservoice.com

They will need info about your system, hardware, plugins etc.

I was unable to replicate any of the instances of the bug in safe mode.

 

On a side note, quick keys do not update the working tool icon, rather it displays the last tool icon I manually clicked in the toolbar.

In that case you'll need to figure out what on your system prevents it from working correctly.

Maybe start with resetting the preferences. You could quit Illustrator and then rename the preferences folder.
