Unable to activate fonts in Illustrator

Yesterday I was working on a project and today illustrator "forgot" that these fonts were installed, after that I tried to activate the fonts but after clicking on "Install" on the "Resolve missing fonts", just kept loading for a long time with no avail. The only way I managed to fix it was re-downloading the fonts from a different website and installing them manually, being the fonts in question: Poppins and Montserrat. Is there any way I can prevent this from ever happening again? a colleague told me to do a clean install of illustrator, just in case.

Hello @ComCorp2018,

I am sorry to hear about your experience. Are these Adobe fonts you are using in your file? If yes, there may be a problem with the Creative Cloud Desktop application. To fix it, kindly try the following steps and check if it helps:

 

  • Close all Adobe applications
  • Remove the Creative Cloud Desktop application, CCLibrary, and CoreSync using the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool (https://adobe.ly/3XYHGLU)
  • Reinstall the Creative Cloud Desktop application (https://adobe.ly/3zCg2Lj)
  • Relaunch Illustrator

 

Also, check if Auto-activate Adobe fonts is enabled under Illustrator's File Handling preferences.
