Unable to have mixed size type on same lines with auto-leading turned off

I am SO SICK AND TIRED of Adobe screwing up Illustrator… a simple thing I should be able to do and have done countless times now no longer works properly.

Simply have several Iines of text for a stand up banner, the text is 200pt size, the leading is set to 240pt to there is space between the lines, and all I need is ONE WORD in 260pt on the last line and it is screwing it up completely.

Who at Adobe is screwing it up so badly it is broken??????????????

This NEVER WAS A PROBLEM BEFORE AT ALL EVER IN THE HISTORY OF ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR!!!!!!!

Why does Adobe insist on thinking it knows typography when clearly it is idiot programmers who know absolutely NOTHING ABOUT TYPOGRAPY and continually break this application over and over and over again.

Leading has existed since they started calling it LEADING over five hundred years ago but now, today, 2026, Adobe decides to screw with it, because well.. Adobe… too busy creating online content tools to be bothered with having to know how they got here to begin with.

I still CANNOT keyboard enlarge or reduce text like I have been able to do since 1988. YES, 1988!!! When Illustrator was king and the help people ACTUALLY USED THE APP and the developers ACTUALLY KNEW THE APP and it wasn’t being screwed up by idiots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why did this break almost a year ago AND YET STILL HASN’T BEEN FIXED??????? WHAT THE ABSOLUTE FFFFFFFFFF??????????????

This is just clearly yet another major flaw in this app that Adobe created and yet we continually get shafted each and every month for their stupidity!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, wait, they haven’t charged me for THREE MONTHS because of the last tech call I had with them where they could not figure out something. Credited me three months.

At this point, Adobe Creative Suite should be thrown out there FREE TO ALL. Free download because it just isn’t worth $10 a year any more. There truly is no point for Adobe to exist any longer if these apps are just the worst possible examples of their idiocy.

Now I have to fudge this typography for the sake of a stupid app that never was a problem and its nearly midnight and now it’s a problem because some idiot decided they didn’t need to test this beta version before they shoved it down our throats.

So freaking mad at these idiots. Ligatures - what the absolute freak is this garbage  - never used on technical layouts, I would never use this unless it was fine typography such as a serif typeface in a classic setting. But no, by default, shoved down our throats with each and every update even though I TURNED IT OFF BY DEFAULT.

Adobe, you need to pack it in, Canva and Affinity are chomping at your heals and with the amount of mistakes piling up in just the last year, the sign is on the wall that you just don’t care enough about your user base to test your crap software before throwing it out without a care at all about us having to use it. And constantly pay you for it - though I haven’t this month because, again, Adobe’s failures and I demanded a refund. THREE MONTHS.

Just stop. It’s now embarrassing to say I have to use your apps.
