Unable to move placed artboard in Illustrator

Just started having issues with trying to move placed photos on an Illustrator artboard. Anyone else having this issue?

Sometimes it happens with me when the view accidnetly switched to CPU preview .

you may try pressing ( cmd + E on Mac ) , ( ctrl + E on windows ) to switch to GPU preview

Illustrator version 28.7.1 - cloud running on a Macbook Pro 14" 2023 with 96G of memory.

Hi @Gankie, thank you for sharing the details. I understand how frustrating it must be not being able to move placed images, especially when everything else seems to be working fine.

If you’re running any desktop management apps like Magnet or Rectangle, they can sometimes interfere with Illustrator’s behavior. Try closing them while using Illustrator or exclude Illustrator from these apps.

You could also try running Illustrator in Safe Mode to see if that helps. This can rule out any third-party conflicts.
