Unable to open new file or save

Hi! Since last week I can't be able to open new files or save old ones. Can someone tell me what can I do to solve this problem? Thnx!

Thanks for reaching out. Would you mind resetting Illustrator preferences as suggested by Mylenium and seeing if that helps? If it doesn't, would you mind sharing a few details along with the one asked by Monika:

  • Does this happen while opening or exporting a specific document or file format?
  • Please confirm where your files are saved & where you are saving the files (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System/ External HDD).

 

Also, if you are getting any error or warning while opening or saving the file, please share a screenshot, or elaborate/ share your observation on what happens exactly when you try to open or save the file.

Without any system info we can't really tell you much. From permissions issues on specific folders to this weird thing on macs where deleting the prefs and reinstalling the app magically fixes things this could be anything. You could at least try the latter solution if it applies to your situation.

If no printer is connected, please try that. If you don't have one, try a PDF printer.
