Unable to overwrite PDF file in Illustrator

After the most recent update to Illustrator CS 2020 [24.0.2], whenever I open and edit an existing AI file, then overwrite and save as a previously-saved PDF, close that PDF file, the newest changes are NOT on the new PDF that I JUST saved. I have to save the PDF to a completely different folder in order for the changes to show up on the "new" PDF..

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. It was a known issue and If you have macOS please check there should be an update available for Illustrator, the version would be 24.0.3. The fix for this issue has been released in this update.

Let us know if it works or if you need any further assistance.

Thank you! The newest update isn't available for me yet, so I'll continue using the work-around. "Save as" doesn't work either as far as the "new" information showing up on the overwritten PDF. Even though I get the proper pop-up alert warning that "xxxxx.pdf" already exists, asking if I want to replace it.
