Unable to paste filename into the Save window in Illustrator

In Illustrator, when I “Save” or “Save As...” I cannot paste a name into the dialogue box. It ‘beeps’ like an error.

    it should work even if you paste illegal file name characters, though it wouldn’t let you save.

     

    paste works here, I’m on Windows 11, Illustrator v30.0
