Unable to see transparency in Exported PDF & EPS file from Illustrator in Mac

When exporting a transparent file (see image below) the files appear all white when previewing pdf or eps? Why is that and how do I fix it?

I'm using a MAC and preview the files on Preview. It does the same thing when I preview on google chrome.

Sorry about the trouble. We'd be able to assist you better if you could please confirm & share the following details:

Did you exported the file in PNG with the background color as "Transparent"? Then open it in Mac preview & chrome application and check if it has transparency?
While exporting EPS, did you select the preview format (Tiff "8-Bit color" with Transparent)?
As Monika mentioned above, you can turn on Transparency Grid in Adobe Acrobat from Preferences (Cmd+K > Page Display > Page Content and Information > Show Transparency Grid). By doing this, were you able to see the exported file as intended?
Is the issue related to a specific document? If yes, could you please share the document with us? You can upload it to the Creative Cloud (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/share.html) and share the download link here or via DM.
