Question

Unable to use second display as primary Illustrator Frameless Application display on Mac

I can't for the life of me figure out how to assign Illustrator to my second display; I prefer to operate in a frameless setting.

Currently have I Premier running on the left Main Display with the Mac's Dock on the left, and Illustrator running preferably on the Right Extended Display, however no matter what I click or when I to 'assign' Illustrator to that display, Illustrator will not populate the top taskbar to that display. These are matched Studio Displays.

I'd prefer to not follow this outdated advice, as it's not a solution and ignore's Mac's fundamental advantages of it's OS.

Hi @Matthew David King,

I understand your frustration with trying to assign Illustrator to your second display as the primary frameless application. It seems like you're encountering some difficulty with this setup.

To better understand the issue and provide assistance, would you mind recording the problem you're experiencing and sharing it with us? This will help us see exactly what steps you're taking and what results you're getting, allowing us to provide more accurate guidance. I tried at my end but couldn't replicate the same.

Additionally, could you please confirm the version of Illustrator and macOS you're currently using? Knowing this information will help us tailor our suggestions to your specific setup.

Furthermore, if you could provide details about your Mac model, it would be helpful in troubleshooting the issue more effectively.

Thank you for your cooperation, and we'll do our best to help you resolve this issue and achieve your preferred setup with Illustrator.

Best regards,
