Question

Undo function stops working

Hello!

my system: OSX 10.11.6
illustrator version: CC2017

Since the last CC update, for unknown reasons, the Undo function stops working ever so often. I cannot undo by using the shortcut nor by clicking it in the menu bar. This is accompanied by a minor side effect - when I try to save, the document saves properly - although the star indicating unsaved changes (* - to the right of the document title in the tab bar) doesn't disappear (which it should, after saving). I did not observe any other problems.

After restarting illustrator, things go to normal until it starts again. I do ignore it sometimes, and it fixes itself after some 5-10 minutes, until it breaks down again. Until now I wasn't able to replicate the error on purpose.

if anybody did encounter, or even better, by any chance solved this problem, please let me know.

thanks!

Andreas

Open again,,, saved files continue to show "*" as not saved.

Undo Doesn't work either with hot keys or from menu.

Undo Function in menu looks normal.

Adobe Illustrator CC

2017.1.0 Release

21.1.0

Incredibly frustrating and makes the program nearly unusable.

Hope someone finds the fix.

Thanks all.

I'm having the same issue! I created a root account on my Mac to test this and it did not correct this bug. It's very frustrating.

Hi there,

Do you have any anti-virus installed like Avast or any such apps? It's been observed that certain security apps cause this issue.

Please check and do share the result.

Om

Hi!

I didn't install any such software. I´ve been the only one ever to use my machine.

Hi there,

In that case, I would suggest you to create a new user account in your Mac (Admin) and check Illustrator after you login to the new account. Do share the result.
