I know that this issue has already been posted but i've opened a fresh one because i think no one is taking care of this actually. there is a date when the fix is coming out?

We are sorry for the trouble. Would you mind sharing a few details like:

  • The exact version of OS & Illustrator
  • Screenshot of the error
  • From which version of AutoCAD this DXF file was exported? If not, AutoCad, which other app did you use to export the DXF file, and the exact version of that app?
  • Would it be possible for you to share the DXF with us?

Hi, thanks for answering,

Sure, here the info:

version of Illustrator is 26.3.1 (64-bit) windows 10

the software wich the dxf file comes from is Shoemaster. Dxf file is R14 type wich worked just fine untill the update.

#Sorry for the delayed response.
Thanks for sharing the details, @Dani Olmos. It seems that this third-party application is using an old AutoCad library. Do you get an option to save the DXF file in any of the following types:

  1. 2000/ LT2000
  2.  2004/ 2005/ 2006
  3.  2007/2008/ 2009
  4. 2010/ 2011/ 2012
  5.  2013/ LT2013
  6.  2018 or newer.

 

If yes, please try exporting the DXF in it and see if the file opens up in Illustrator or not.
