Unwanted Outline Effect on Text When "Flatten Transparency"

Hi everyone,

I’m facing an issue with Adobe Illustrator where flatten transparency causes my text to get an unwanted vector format. 

Has anyone encountered this before or know how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated!
