Updating Data Merge Content Needs Development
Respectfully, the 'Data Merge' feature in Illustrator has not seen an improvements for a very long time.
One of the significant deficiencies comes from updating information from updating the variable library. I will categorize them in the following way;
- There appears to be several unwritten/unclarified rules in order for updating the variable library to be acheived.
- Anything short of achieving all of the unknown requirements in updating the variable library produces the following unclarified error statement, "The filter cannot complete because of an unknown error."
I see great potential for Illustrator to increase it's functionality through the use of the Data Merge feature, however there needs to be UX development.
