Using Adobe firefly files I created in Adobe illustrator

I just bought adobe illustrator yesterday - newbie and I am doing something wrong. I made adobe firefly files and saved as PNG files in adobe creative cloud under folder. When i go to adobe illustrator, my create cloud folder appears empty. Why can't i see or access the files to use in AI?

In "Your files" there will only be AIC files (Adobe Illustrator Cloud).

When you create a new file and then go to File > Place

And then choose Creative Cloud, do the files appear?
