Hello,

I currently use variables for automating file making in Illustrator with it dropping in the relevant PDF files in the right place and then use batch process so it does the file making automatically. These are all single-page PDF files I am working with.

I just wondered if anyone knows if there is a way or a script that allows use to you use Variables with multipage PDF files so that you can specify the exact page for illustrator to import. I.e. you could tell it to import page 2 of a multipage PDF document.

At the moment if you use variables with a multipage PDF document it just pulls in the first page and you cannot specify a page.

Thanks in advance.

Thomas.

Thanks for your reply, is there a way to integrate a script such as that with variables so you can import two pages of a PDF onto an illustrator document with two artboards?

I want to use variables with multipage PDF files and have over 3000 files I would like to work with (adding qr codes to them) and want to do it automatically using variables and actions.

I have got my single-page PDF files to work well using variables and actions. But just cannot get multipage PDF files to import with variables.

Thanks.
