V29 Deleted all my workspaces and preferences

A little frustrated with the update to v29.0 (on the mac): all my preferences didn't update.

What's killing me is my workspaces. I can find the old ones and put them into the new workspaces folder, and they show up in the workspaces dropdown, but they don't do anything. I can select them, but it just stays with the previous workspace.

I can see that the format has changed in the actual workspace file, new ones preview as a "Unix Executable File" and the old ones were simple text documents.

Am I just out of luck?

I'm surprised that Adobe got this one wrong, unlike them on updates and I'm surprised I'm not seeing this channel full of others like me. Did it just fail for me then (or am I bad at searching)?
