Yesterday everything was fine. Today I get a message that says "the program can't start because VCRUNTIME140_1.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. How do I reinstall Illustrator or how do add the dll file?

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the trouble you are facing with Illustrator. This is a windows error which generally occurred due to the missing or corrupt Visual C++ redistributable files. Please try the steps shared in this help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/vcruntime-error-on-launch.html) and let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Whenever I click onto Illustrator programs, it says that VCRUNTIME140_1.dlll was not found. I tried multiple ways to fix it but I couldn't. Anyone has solutions for this ?

Without any specific info on your system and the relevant nerd info from your system logs this is nothing anyone can tell you much about. Start by actually reinstalling AI with sufficient user privileges. Anything beyond that could involve a lot of jumping hoops and mumbo-jumbo like manually configuring DLLs with regsrv, but even that may not fix the actual issue.

I fixed it by installing the latest version of Visual C++ from WIndows.
