Question

Vector elements different when exported to jpg or png

Designing a logo in Illustrator. When I export the image to png or jpg, some vector elements change. Color is fine, resolution is fine. I have been using Illustrator for 12 years and have never seen this happen before.

when I save it as pdf, then reopen that, then export that, it does it correctly.

Hello @awilliamwright,

We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. Would you mind sharing a sample Ai and output file (https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/share-your-files-in-6-simple-steps/td-p/12967531) so we can check it on our end?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Can you check the Attributes panel if some white elements are set to Overprint?

You can also use Overprint Preview.

No overprinting is on. None of the different preview modes show the error.

(the error one has the flare out at the bottom of that white bit).

version is 27.2 (64bit). Tried making sure Windows was updated and rebooting; problem still there.

"No overprinting is on."

It should be OFF, you don't want white to overprint, you won't see it...

Which of them is as designed?

Which effects or functions did you use? In a PDF things get expanded, so that can be the issue.

But in any case: reboot the computer.

Which version is it? 27.3?
