Version 29.6.1 - "Can't finish previewing. Could not complete requested operation."

After updating Adobe Illustrator to version 29.6.1 a file that I was working on doesn't want to open correctly.

It is a file with multiple placed images. The prompt says: "Can't finish previewing. Could not complete the requested operation." If I try opening the same file in version 2024 it opens perfectly.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Could you try moving the file to a different folder location on the internal drive (if possible) to check if it helps? If the problem persists, kindly share a link to the file after uploading it to a file-sharing service, so I can check it on my end.
