Version problem

All my programs are the latest version and there are no extra updates. But when I save my files, it saves them with the old version. I experience this in all programs. Since I use Ai and Ps the most, it also affects my work. When I open it with the old version, I cannot use some features in the 2024 version. Why is this the case and how can I solve it?

    The old version problem is most dangerous in Illustrator, because by default it saves to the old version. You have to save as, when you open old files.

    When you open old files in InDesign, it adds a [Converted] to the name and you cannot simply save the file.

    You probably clicked "Don't show again" in this warning.

    In Preferences you can reset all warning dialogs.

    I don't remember checking this option, but I'd like to check it. Which setting in preferences should I look at?

    Checking this will warn you. But you still need a Save As... and save the file as Illustrator 2020
