Vertical Typing

I am struggling with vertical typing. I have a picture attached for reference. I would like the text "80th Ave" to read like you would see a map display on a street running north to south. You can see under the black line the way I would like the text to read. Any assistance in rotating the text would be appreciated.

As @pixxxelschubser said, type horizontally

Select the text frame with the selection tool "V"

then double-click the Rotate tool "R" and type 90° in the dialog

?

Write it normal (horizontal). Then rotate the text frame by 90°

Whenever I do that, the text stays in the same orientation. It's almost like a gimbal.
