This has happned a few times now so need to vent - if a user on mac erroneously opens a docuement that is already open and being edited and not yet saved, the document somtimes reverts back to the original saved file without a prompt. I have lost hours of work.

I wanted to report this bug on adobe feedbacl page but typical of adobe, the link is broken.

The Illustrator User Voice forum is good place to provide bug reports.

Hi @Arthur@inverness,

Thanks for flagging this, I can imagine how disruptive that would be. To get this checked properly, could you please confirm the exact Illustrator version and the macOS version you are using? I tested this on my end on Windows 11 with Illustrator 30.1 and the file opened with the latest real time changes intact, so it will really help to know your setup. Please also let me know if this happens with a particular document or if you see it with all files, and where the original file is stored, for example on your local drive, in Creative Cloud, on a remote server, or on an external drive.

If you can, a short screen recording showing the full workflow, from the file being opened and edited to opening it again and seeing it revert, along with a side-by-side comparison, would be very helpful to analyze. Also, just to clarify, I tested the Submit feedback and bug option from the Help menu in Illustrator, and it worked fine for me. You can also access it directly here https://adobe.ly/3LquXhK if you want to submit it there as well.

Looking forward to your update, so we can take this further.
