Very Laggy Adobe Illustrator Even after 2.9 Update

Could you let me know which version of macOS you're running? Also, just to confirm, are you currently on the latest Illustrator 29.5 version or referring to a different release?

It would really help if you could explain a bit more about the lag. Does it happen while performing a specific task, using a certain tool or effect, or does it occur consistently across the app?

In the meantime, try disabling GPU Performance by going to Illustrator > Preferences > GPU Performance to see if that improves responsiveness. Also, try resetting Illustrator preferences once.
