Question

View using GPU causes colours to be very bright and saturated 29.6.1 Windows 11

Since recently, viewing using GPU causes colours to be wrong, saturated and very bright, but not on all colours. Switching to CPU restores the correct colours.

What is going on any idea?

Hello @David Secretain,

That does seem strange. Are you using Illustrator on Windows? If yes, would you mind trying the suggestions shared in this community post (https://adobe.ly/45cCcQ5) to check if they help.

If you're on macOS, please try recalibrating your monitor for sRGB (https://adobe.ly/4f9isBD), restarting your computer, and then relaunching Illustrator to see if it helps.

Also, kindly reset the Color Settings in Illustrator to the defaults and share your observations.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Nothing worked.

The screenshots where the colour is messed up are from an imported pdf within illustrator.

But it gets stranger, if I open another illustrator file, I don't have this issue, it uses the GPU.

What a buggy mess...

Hi @David Secretain,

Thanks for sharing the update and the screenshot. Since you mentioned the issue occurs only with a specific PDF imported into Illustrator and not with other files, it's possible that the embedded color profiles or transparency settings in that PDF are causing the GPU to misrender the colors.

Could you try copying the contents into a new Illustrator file and then check if the colors display correctly? If the issue persists even after that, feel free to share the affected file with us, so we can take a closer look. If the file contains confidential content, you can share it via DM on the community.

Looking forward to hearing how it goes.
