Viewing Artboards causes crashes

A customer has supplied an Illustrator file with lots of artboards. Attempting to scroll in the Artboard Panel to see the enire list of Artboards causes Illustrator to crash every single time.

I don't expect anyone to suggest a solution. I just wanted to point out a persistent functional failure.

How many artboards?

Can you reproduce it by creating a new demo file?

What version of Illustrator/OS are you using?

Could you share more details, like the version of the OS/Illustrator installed, and a link to a sample file you're having trouble with (after uploading it to a file-sharing service like Google Drive/Dropbox/etc, and enabling the option to download/save if any), and a small screen recording of the problem, as Doug suggested, so I can better assist you with this?
