Wacom Pen pressure unresponsive in Ill. 2020 on Catalina

I've been through all the different threads on here, trying to find a solution for this problem. I've

- restarted everything too many times

- made sure that both Wacom and Illustrator have Access to everything on my computer

-updated both programs

- made sure the tablet driver was enabled

- enabled and disabled the wacom tablet under devices in illustrator

- fussed with the pen sensitivity settings a bunch

- reset preferences in both programs

Nothing has worked. I feel like I'm missing something big, because I had the same problem when I first downloaded Illustrator 2018, but I don't remember how I solved it. 

I'd appreciate the help here.
