Weird offset with Pathfinder Tools

Hi, I am trying to subtract one shape from another, and I'm noticing that Illustrator is doing some weird quantizing. Can anyone explain why this is happening? Snap to pixel grid is off.

    Check the Precision in the Pathfinder panel options

    And make it  as small as possible.

      Glad to hear that worked, Probably less precise, less calculations, faster with complex objects on older slow machines.
