What happened to stick PDF export settings?

In one of the recent releases, PDF output settings became "sticky", meaning they didn't change every time you saved as PDF. After the most recent update, that is no longer the case. Is there a setting or something that I need to re-enable that feature? I make PDFs all day long, I found it very helpful. 

Mac OS 14.4.1, Illustrator 28.5.
