What is happen with Pen tool

I use illustrator 5 days a week for work.

Today, when using the pen tool the 1 pt like looks like a 5pt line.  I had to adjust my line weight to be .16 for it to look normal.

Also, it kep resetting? I would change the line weight as sell as the function  to .5 to make ruffle lines on a skirt with the ends that are thinner.  Every time I clicked enter to finish a line, when dropped a new anchor point the pen line weight would reset to 1 (which looked like 5) and would remove the functions.

It prevented me from getting my work done

Can you check the Brushes panel if you are using a brush? You can also check the "New Art Has Basic Appearance" option in the Appearance panel.

Hello @joanne28945847heul,

We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. Would you mind resetting Illustrator's preferences as described in this article (https://adobe.ly/4dISnHX) and checking if it helps?

Disclaimer: Please note that renaming preferences folders will remove all the custom settings, and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also save a backup of the folders, the location of which is mentioned above.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav
