Question

What is happening?! Why is it, apparently, ONLY ME, that has issues that can't be fixed?

In my cozy office I have 4 computers. One personal desktop, one work provided desktop, and two laptops of my own. ALL 4 OF THEM have reproducable issues that no one else in the world seems have. 

Now, today, a new one popped up where I can't create new brushes. Before it was that smart guides don't work when window's mouse setting "Enhance Pointer Precision" is turned off. 

And for years it's been that snapping is not accurate. 

And a few years ago it was that they make shift to constrain the exception and not the norm and it took a YEAR to get them to add a legacy mode. 

WHAT ARE WE PAYING FOR?!

    What kind of artwork are you using for the brush? Is there an error message?

    I'm trying to make a little wheat stalk.
    It's not doing anything. It just sits there. I drag and drop: no response.
    I select the wheat and do New Brush -> Art Brush.... and then stare into
    the void as Illustrator ignores me.

    Exactly when does it not do anything anymore?
