What is the best workflow in Illustrator for designing a responsive calculator interface with different text lengths?

I’m working on a calculator-style interface where the numbers, labels, and result values can change depending on the input. I want to keep the layout clean and consistent without manually resizing every text box and button.

Is there a recommended Illustrator workflow for handling variable-length numbers and text while keeping spacing, alignment, and typography consistent? I’m especially interested in using Area Type, Auto Size, or other Illustrator features that can make this type of UI design easier to maintain.
