When editing shape, stroke becomes different color

So Ive been using illustrator for a while and havent had this problem until now. Basically, when I edit my shape or reflect it, weird lines/strokes appear around it and I cant get to turn to the fill color. Like, I didnt have this problem yesterday. I think its the outline that just becomes really bright version of the fill color? How do I fix this, please help!
