When object is large outer glow gets lines

I have an image where we did an outer glow on the top of an object.  When I expand this to the large print size the outer glow shows lines and is uneven.  I have tried expanding the image/object and then adding the outer glow, but it still has the issue.  I have expanded with stroke and effects checked in the transform setting.  Thank you for any help
