Question

When placing a copy of a library file with text on a shape, the text is misconfigured

In my work, I have several libraries and one of them contains some stamps and icons that we use daily. However, when we place as copy this stamp from the library into the file we are working on, it loses the configuration and layout of the text, and this happens with text that is over a shape. Does anyone know why this happens?

There were some problems in the past with text on a path disappearing.

What happens if you double click the stamp in the library to open it, make a small edit, undo it and save and close it?

Hello @DougPicussa,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind sharing more details, like the OS version and whether Illustrator behaves this way with all files? If not, please share a link to the asset you're having trouble with so I can better assist you.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Anubhav.
This error doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes it works normally and other times it comes back. But one thing I noticed is that in an older file that already has other elements this error happens, but in new files that have just been created this error doesn't happen. Regarding the system, I'm using Illustrator 29.1 and macOS 15.0.1. But this error has happened before these latest updates.

Hello @DougPicussa,

Thanks for sharing the details. I tried replicating this on my end but could not. Would you mind sharing a sample Ai and the library file so I can check it with the team?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
