Whenever I change the font style, the text disappears

I have an AI file that I previously saved as a PDF. However, when I try to open the AI file now, the text is not visible, and although I can see the fonts, I cannot access the font data. For example, when the text is written in the Light style of the Future PT font, it is visible, but when I switch it to Bold, the text disappears.
