While learning drawing with Wacom, brush stroke weight keeps reverting back to 1pt

Hi!

I have the exact same problem as this person describes in a video from 2018 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qg9jM8Z5WDk.

I am trying to use a Wacom to draw in Illustrator, and whenever i change the stroke weight to something else than 1pt the drawn lines reverts back to 1pt.

I have tried unchecking "New Art has Basic Appearance" in Appearance and "Scale Strokes & Effects" in Transform.

When drawing with the brush tool, you are always applying a brush (from the brushes panel).

In that video the brush is 5 Pt round, which is by definition 5 Pt wide. The stroke width just acts as a multiplier.

If you need just a uniform line, don't use the brush tool. Use the pencil tool.
