White box appears around transparent artwork in Illustrator GPU Preview

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a vector design in Illustrator and noticed a strange issue with GPU Preview.

Some artwork that uses transparency and a clipping mask shows a white box around it while I’m editing. The box disappears when I switch to CPU Preview, so it seems to be related to GPU rendering.

I’m using the latest Illustrator version and have already tried reopening the file, but the issue still happens.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a setting or workaround that can fix the GPU Preview without having to switch to CPU Preview?

GPU Preview has a history of poor rendering for many users even with updated drivers. Hopefully, updating your driver will work for you.

Thanks, I’ll try updating the graphics driver first. I’m on Windowsso that might actually be the cause. I’ll check if the issue is still there after the update

If you are on Windows,  you could try to update the driver for your graphics card.
