Question

White edges printing on my label

I am working on creating a label and it looks fine on the screen but when I print it the left edge as well as the bottom of the label has a white line on it. I have tried selecting all assets and stretching it, but it still has the white edges. It looks normal on the monitor, and on the print screen, but it doesnt print that way. I have also tried starting a new document with the dimensions of my label and that didnt help. I also started a new document and made it a little larger hoping it would push the white edges off of the label, but that didnt work either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I also have an issue where sometimes I get a white line at the edge of a label, but it does not have a soft edge. I think this may have something to do with the dimension settings of the label, but not totally sure. If someone could help me fix this issue that would be helpful too.

I am having the same issues with the same printer. I'm not sure if you tried this, but in the Epson PrinterSetting software, you have the option for borderless printing under Media Layout, I believe. This didn't solve my issue, but if you haven't found a solution, this is something you could try.

If you did find a solution, can you please share it? Nothing I have tried has gotten rid of these borders. Thanks!

Does this also happen when you rasterize the design? Or print it from a PDF in Acrobat?

Yes it does.

What does EPSON say?

The image you attached shows what looks like a physical problem with the printer and labels.

What kind of labels are these? Are they already "cut out" before you're printing on them? Usually a label with any creative shape to it (such as radiused corners) would be attached to a larger carrier sheet of material. The printer would print on the larger sheet and then the labels would be peeled out of it afterward. The larger carrier sheet allows full bleed print coverage (without spraying a bunch of ink onto the internals of the printer).

They are a 2" x 7" label that come on a roll of 2000. Matte finish. I print a ton of labels using the same software and printer and I dont normally have this issue, but everytime it comes to printing on these 2x7 labels I have this issue. I have attempted to start a brand new file and I still have this problem. Attached is another label that I create using this same software and printer and it prints all the way to the edge. I'm willing to try any suggestions you may have.

One thing I would check is to make sure the 2" X 7" labels aren't falling outside the maximum printable boundaries of the printer. If they're being printed in rows of 2 up or something like that it could be an issue. I don't know what kind of printer is being used (like if it's a desktop inkjet printer or large format printer).

Normally if there is a discrepancy between document settings and print settings the print output will just get cut off with a hard edge, not the soft edge seen in the image you posted.
